Isaiah 54:11

Afflicted city, storm battered, unpitied; I am about to rebuild you with stones of turquoise, lay your foundations of sapphires...

A good description of how we all feel at times. Kind of beat up by life. Afflicted and battered. Dealing with the stuff that just happens to us every day. The passage continues: "I'm about to rebuild you". Key words here. God is speaking, and He says He's the one who will do the rebuilding. Not us. The message doesn't say "go out and work really hard and fix the mess you've made". God says "I'm about to rebuild you".

v8: "With everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you".

This is our future. This is our hope.
