High School Backpack Trip
(Co-ed. For youth entering 9th-12th grades)

Join Winston for a week long adventure into the Weminuche Wilderness in Southwestern Colorado. Get Out! Climb Mountains! Be Different. Part of our adventure will be a cache hunt. Using GPS units we'll locate Sonlgiht's geocache. You provide personal items, a good raincoat, and a good set of hiking boots, and Sonlight will provide will provide all the gear you'll need. Space is limited to 12 participants.
Wilderness Weeks for Girls/Boys
For campers entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade
Wilderness Week is a rustic camp for mid-school age youth. In a small group setting, campers and counselors will rough it in the National Forest for five days. Under the supervision of Sonlight’s staff, kids will pack their own gear to the campsite, share in the cooking, learn wilderness etiquette, and choose activities which may include hiking, outdoor crafts, archery, survival techniques, challenge games, etc.
Packs will vary by the size of the camper, but will be 15-30 pounds. Campers will backpack in their own gear, Sonlight staff will transport in the tents, cooking gear and food.

Sonlight does have scholarship funds available for partial scholarships if money is a problem at this time. Please call Winston at 970.264.4379 or e-mail winston(at)sonlightcamp.org.
To register for camp: You'll need a registration form. Brochures were mailed January 2 to returning campers. New campers may request a form via e-mail at sonlight@sonlightcamp.org. You may download a form. Any which way you get a form, return it to Sonlight with your $100 deposit. Upon receipt of your registration form and deposit, we will mail you a confirmation packet including a list of what to bring and health form. Final payment and completed health form are due in Sonlight's office two weeks before your child comes to camp
Cancellations: Should you cancel your reservation, there will be a $25 cancellation fee before May 15th. After May 15th, deposits are non-refundable.
