All the snow is melting at camp and it is starting to look and feel like spring! The cats have a bit of spring fever; they keep meowing. My spring fever has me traveling. I just got back from Oklahoma and a few other places in between.
Mary and Winston are still on the Appalachian Trail. They are enjoying their trip and the sights but have had a few wet and cold days. They are in the final leg of their journey and will be back in the office on May 5th.
The Sonlight family lost an amazing person on Tuesday. Scott Hudson passed away after a long battle with numerous diseases. Our hearts and prayers are with the Hudson family. Scott was truly an inspiration to us and he will be missed. He is now sitting with the Lord and smiling down on us all.

So out of habit, I keep checking the "what's new" page when I get onto my computer. Lately, I keep checking this and then it takes me a bit to remember, "Oh wait, I am the one who updates the website!" Oops!
May is our busy month. Mary, Winston and I hit the ground running. Right now I am trying to finalize t-shirts and all sorts of good stuff. There has been a few guesses on what the boxes are (pictured below). No it isn't a roller coaster. Sorry! You will just have to wait and see when you come to camp.
Happy Weekend!

Mary and Winston are on a well deserved vacation. So, for the month it is my job to keep the website updated. Scary thought....I know!
We spent the last week in Las Vegas at an American Camping Association Camp West conference. We have a ton of ideas for this summer. Winston and I even bought a new surprise for camp. You just wish you knew what was in those boxes!

Maui is back at camp keeping watch over the great melt down. Apparently there are now babbling brooks across the meadow.

Lots 'o learning here in Vegas. We've gotten some great ideas for Sonlight. We're continually reminded of the value of camp, the out of doors, connections with each other. Pics below: Starbucks to start the day off. Palm trees are a welcome change from snow. Lions at the MGM Grand (one of these guys is 7th generation offspring from the original MGM Grand lion). NewYork NewYork and the fountains in front of the Bellagio. (Heidi's happy place).

Winston, Mary and Heidi in Las Vegas. The CampWest conference is awesome. Pics tomorrow. The conference theme is Building Connections: Creating Camps That Make a Difference. We look forward to all that we'll learn. Heidi likes the awesome weather. And we have yet to see a skunk.

Flooding, skunks and flurries on Wolf Creek. April is a great time to take a break. Picture the vehicle shop with a river flowing through it. Water is burbling under the bridge to the outdoor chapel. Good time for a little break. Sammy is watching over the lodge. Benji is in Boulder. Heidi and Winston and Mary are headed for a camping conference.
