Summer is almost here! JT is so excited for the warm weather in Boulder she is jumping for joy. Or maybe she is flying (it's kind of hard to tell). Brett took in a Rockies game this week. Actually he doesn't look that warm, but I think he was wearing his Sonlight hoodie as one of those layers. He will be heading to Sonlight soon for the final preparations for camp. Winston and Mary will also be back from their well-deserved vacation soon.

Staff hiring is finished!!!!!!!!! Give Brett a high-five now.
At many camps, the last staff they hire are hired to fill gaps, not necessarily for their skills. But Sonlight has been fortunate, by God's grace, to find exceptional ministry-minded individuals throughout the entire hiring season. Brett says, "Every single summer staffer was hired because they have what it takes to impact God's Kingdom, and make a difference at Sonlight." Thanks to everyone who will devote their summer to "being with kids and showing them God."

I received a note from Winston and Mary that they are now on the island of Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea off of France. They are starting a 5 day walk called the "Mare a Mare Sud" (the "Southern Sea to Sea" route). They will hike from one coast of the island to the other. Sounds like so much fun. I want to go! They will have to tell us all about it when they get back. (I'll bet Mary will have some nice pics to post when they return.)

Things are quiet right now at camp, but we are still "minding the store." Registrations continue to come in for camps. The Dates and Availability page and the Wait List page are updated every few days, if you need to keep track of that information. Brett has almost finished interviewing and hiring the summer staff. I'll tell you, we're going to have a fun and creative group this summer to welcome the campers.
Winston and Mary are in Paris on the start of their vacation. They spent the day on a walking tour of the city and visiting Notre Dame and the Louvre. Maybe they will send us some pictures from their trip (but neither Mary or I are exactly sure how to do that from Internet Cafes). Stay tuned!

Winston and Brett enjoyed an information-loaded ACA CampWest Conference in Las Vegas, NV. They gathered some great programming ideas, financial tips, and new marketing ideas for Sonlight. We are charged up for the upcoming summer!

The beginning of April and your Sonlight friends are busy as can be. Mary and her mom are in the Pacific Northwest visiting relatives. Winston and Brett are at a convention for Christian camp directors, learning more and more cool things to apply to Sonlight. And good old Benji tried to play an April fools day joke on the Guestbook today. I am glad to announce that Sonlight Camp is actually NOT moving to Italy.

Welcome to spring. Or so we thought. Yay for snow! April is around the corner, and we want to say a huge thank-you to Mike Coltrin, who is going to manage the Sonlight website for a month. (Mike is the handsome guy to the left). Winston and Brett are off to an American Camp Association conference, and then Mary and Winston take a break before summer.
